 Within the word "damned", it is easy to envision devils, Hades and hellfire. However, damnation may also reflect the eternal condemnation of self and the subtle abuse of one's mind against itself. It may reflect the emotional trappings within the haunting ghosts of the past. Perhaps the immeasurable tendrils that bind us to our deepest longings or deprivations. DAMNED is an exhibition of those extraordinary artists who know that without darkness, there is no light, that beauty does reside within the repulsive and enlightenment within our darkest hours. This art may be the one true reflection of self that make us balanced within our personal damnations...or possibly it is an expressive visual therapy...or simply a sign that there is something inexplicably damaged inside without comparison.  Artists of all mediums from anywhere in the world are welcome to submit their work for DAMNED. There are no restrictions on genre or content but the more beautifully disturbing or powerfully introspective, the better. You may submit as many pieces not previously submitted to DAMNED as you like for review. Only one JPG image per piece is needed though montage images of three dimensional art is acceptable. Submissions must be of original design by the submitting artist. Models please do not submit without the artist's permission. All images must be in JPG format and in reasonable size (around 300k preferred). Each image should be titled with artist's name and name of piece (ex: artistname_piecetitle.jpg). Submission deadline is September 23 2012. If you have any questions, feel free to email us or contact us on FaceBook.   All artists will be notified via email whether their work was selected or not before September 30. Selected artists will receive further information on shipping/dropping-off their art. Please do not email us inquiring on your status beforehand. Please note that if selected, all art will be expected to be professionally prepared for hanging or display. All shipping fees and arragements will also be the responsibility of the artist. There are no submission fees whatsoever, but accepted artists will pay a single $10 registration/processing fee (per artist, not per piece). Accepted artists also receive complementary admission to the exhibition. DAMNED retains a 30% commission on all art sales made during the exhibition. Non-juried art placed in the Gallery Store are at a 40% commission. All artist commisions will be paid within 30 days of the closing of the exhibition.
